CAFI - Building expertise among young central African professionals in human development and climate change mitigation is essential for long-term forest protection in the region. That’s why CAFI is launching a fellowship program at its Secretariat in Geneva, to invite young talents from the region to join its team for one year, and grow skillsets that can in turn benefit future actions for Central African forests and people.
This fellowship is a UNDP talent development program, based on UNDP’s Fellowship policy. It will run over five years with two fellows hosted every year on a rotational basis, hence offering this unique opportunity to 10 young talents in total.
Eligible candidates must be nationals of one of the six CAFI Partner countries - Cameroon, the Central African Republic, the Democratic republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, the Republic of Gabon, or the Republic of Congo.
They must hold a Masters’ degree or equivalent in environment, sustainable development, forestry, rural development, climate change or related field, and have at least one year of professional experience with their national governments, universities, research institutions working on topics related to CAFI’s mandate - sustainable development, forestry, agriculture, land-use planning, land tenure, energy, mining & hydrocarbons or demography.
They must submit a letter of recommendation from their National Government and/or a national or international academic or research institution based in their country.
