Global fundsMobilizing global financing for the SDGs
Global funds bring together the United Nations and a variety of partners so those involved can address the cross-border challenges that a single country cannot tackle alone. Some, like the Joint SDG Fund, work across all development goals in multiple countries, while others encourage multiple stakeholders to share the burden of finding solutions to common challenges. The Peacebuilding Fund is an example of the latter, where countries receive support when transitioning away from conflict towards stability and peace through the application of state and peacebuilding practices.
Several pooled funds also tackle specific, borderless challenges: The flagship Spotlight Initiative eradicates violence against women and girls around the world while the United Nations Disability Fund promotes the rights of people with disabilities in over 40 countries.
