Maban County (South Sudan) – A joint mission comprising OCHA, UNDP and MPTF Office visited refugee camps in Maban, Upper Nile state. The mission met with the beneficiaries and stakeholders of projects financed by the South Sudan Common Humanitarian Fund (South Sudan CHF). The Upper Nile State in the north-east of South Sudan is host to over 120,000 Sudanese refugees from Blue Nile State. Since their arrival in Maban the refugee families have received emergency shelters, nutrition assistance and other basic life-sustaining assistance from UN Organizations and NGOs. Maban County (South Sudan) – A joint mission comprising OCHA, UNDP and MPTF Office visited refugee camps in Maban, Upper Nile State. The mission met with the beneficiaries and stakeholders of projects financed by the South Sudan Common Humanitarian Fund (South Sudan CHF). The Upper Nile State in the north-east of South Sudan is host to over 120,000 Sudanese refugees from Blue Nile State. Since their arrival in Maban the refugee families have received emergency shelters, nutrition assistance and other basic life-sustaining assistance from UN Organizations and NGOs. As a result, the WASH indicators in Maban Country have improved since 2012; there is one latrine per 14 refugees now compared to one latrine per 48 people in 2012. The refugees have now over 29 liters of water per day compared to 11 liters per day in 2012. 

Maban Country received US$ 6.6 million from the South Sudan CHF in 2013. In addition to this funding, UNHCR, UNICEF, IOM, FAO and NGOs responded to needs of the County through funding from the bilaterally-raised resources.
