Financing climate action and nature-based solutions

Avoiding catastrophic environmental consequences relies on collective action at all—global, regional, national, and local—levels. When we establish and maintain broad coalitions of committed partners, we can better tackle a compounded climate crisis with solutions comprising innovative financing and multi-stakeholder instruments.

Pooled instruments offer all the above and the MPTF Office administers a variety of climate and nature-based funds that include financing mechanisms for protecting forests, blue economy, climate data, conserving biodiversity, supporting sustainable economic policymaking, sustainable consumption and improving access to sustainable energy.

Climate-related blended financing can be used to mobilize domestic resources and combine them with international resources, coordinate diverse climate finance streams, or develop incentive-based payment systems.
