Joint Programme Enhanced Rural Resilience in Yemen

OverviewEnhanced Rural Resilience in Yemen Joint Programme

Launched in four governorates across Yemen, the Enhanced Rural Resilience Joint Programme for Yemen helped to increase the resilience and self-reliance of crisis-affected rural communities through the provision of support in the areas of livelihood stabilization, local governance and improved access to sustainable energy. By focusing on areas where gaps were prevalent, stakeholders could better engage communities and follow their lead in managing local risks and shocks for increased economic self-reliance and enhanced social cohesion.

A secondary—but equally important—outcome of the joint programme approach led to improved institutional development and the curation of systems that are more responsive, accountable and effective in delivering services or meeting community-identified needs.
